Reflections on Cuba: the greatest value is to stimulate un cambio dall'isola e non abbattere il regime per strada

E 'from May 1, 2008 La Isla Grande came to life. The impulse that led me to start this blog fù Yoani Sanchez I saw an interview on Italia 1 in the "hyenas".
I attended the Cuba since 1998, knew the real life of the island, but has been stimulated in that interview I want to create a virtual bridge to Cuba to describe the reality of the island with a disenchanted, true, with those problems and contradictions that still make Cuba a country where normal life "is not easy," where the most simple and basic needs are a "goal" for which we must fight every day.

Sometimes it is not only money to make it possible for us to buy things trivial: oil, potatoes, milk, butter, personal hygiene products, underwear, etc.. These assets are often hard to find.
Not to mention that the salaries are ridiculous, the dual currency makes it impossible to gain access to the Cuban common to many of these basic necessities.
addition, the inability to move in and out of the island, the iron control over every form of freedom of expression, the difficulty to connect to the internet, everything Cuba makes this a country that over the beaches, rum, cigars and the joy of the Cuban people, makes daily survival a victory.

Since then, the blog and my thoughts, my way of writing, have evolved. The problems that led me to want to disclose in Italy qella reality are more or less the same, but the experience made me think more deeply about what they want above all Cubans inside and those outside the island.
A large group, mostly from the United States, are openly anti-Castro, regardless of everything. They want the fall of the regime hoping for a future American influence in the management of the country.
Others, many in Europe, so they want a change at the top of the regime, but desiring a future alternative to a possible "invasion" of America.
Still others, among whom I identify myself, do not believe that the solution of problems is necessarily the fall of the communist regime, in fact.

I believe that the revolution of '59 continues to have its own political and social value. In Cuba there is no illiteracy, health care and the preparation of physicians are among the best in the world seeker free school education is an example for the entire globe, despite the economic difficulties that make it difficult to maintain these gains edge social.

I strongly believe in a "socialist, anti-capitalist, where the main services of an egalitarian state should be for everyone, regardless of the economic and social class. I also believe that private economy is essential to develop an internal competitiveness and bring to a socio-economic development, I believe that meritocracy is a must to encourage people to act with enthusiasm in their professional activities.

Moreover, in recent years, the Western-capitalist model has demonstrated its global failure. Banks and corporations managed by the same few decades are the only dynasties that control and decide life and death of the economies and peoples in all scales of the Western bloc.
The misery, poverty, the absurdities of this model are now more than ever evident in the revolutionary movements that are breaking down those regimes in the Middle East where the capitalist model has been exported over the years.

said that I am surprised that Cubans abroad in the popular uprising in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and other North African countries dell'erea, be taken as an example to encourage similar to a popular movement in Cuba
Cubans on the island but also many of those living abroad, are in fact not the slightest interested in a revolt against the regime. And I do not think this is due to a fear of population genetics, ignorance or apathy of the Cuban people.

Despite the problems I have described, there remains the hope and the will di cambiare e risolvere i problemi che ho descritto, senza cancellare però quelle conquiste e, pechè no, quell'ideologia che ha mantenuto in vita Cuba per più di cinquant'anni.

Negli anni successivi ve ne sono been other, always with a turnout to say the least ridiculous.

These days were organized in various cities around the world in events commemorating the death of Orlando Zapata, a dissident who died in prison a year ago, which is certainly a shameful stain on the regime, as we maintain this is still some political dissidents in prison.
But what I disagree is to take this tragic example to incite a popular uprising in the style of the Middle East.
fact, even the turnout at this event is, however you want to watch, to say the least embarrassing those who were here in Berlin today , and those in New York , I'm curious to see the turnout in other cities in the coming days.

In conclusion, it seems that the desire to turn the scheme is above all the will of an elite group of "exiles" with a strong online presence, but with very little real support both on the island and abroad.
I think it's much more value will continue to push for a change in Cuba from Cuba have a lot more value to those people that despite the thousands of everyday problems continue to seek solutions living on the island and looking at practical ways to overcome those obstacles, rather overthrow a regime that inprovvisamente, which would only lead to a terrible and a dramatic decline in the future, both economically and socially, the Cuban population before everything.
